This zine was the result of extensive research about oak trees endemic to Southern California. Oak trees are very common throughout the landscape, but their historical and contemporary uses are culturally forgotten in a world dominated by decorative gardening. I created this zine to highlight the many things that fascinate me about this tree. The design was inspired by fairy tale books to give the narrative a mythological frame. Copies of the final zine were printed on 4” x 7.5” cardstock and distributed.
